About the Exhibition "Vision"

The grand opening of Inga Harasimowicz’s jubilee exhibition titled "Vision" (Wizja) took place on January 14, 2026, at the Main Library Gallery of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. The exhibition featured rarely displayed large-scale monumental paintings as well as selected masterworks created over the past decade. The showcase revealed a unique dimension of Harasimowicz’s oeuvre, defined by her rigorous engagement with large formats, a synthesis of profound symbolism, oneiric atmosphere, and uncompromising painterly expression. Celebrating 30 years of her creative career, the milestone event gathered a distinguished audience including state and civic officials, directors of cultural institutions, prominent members of the artistic and academic communities, and art collectors from Poland and abroad. The opening was widely covered by national media outlets, including TVP3 Bydgoszcz, Polish Radio PiK, and Radio Kultura. The exhibition was officially opened by Katarzyna Mrotek, Director of the UKW Library Gallery, who introduced the artist’s impressive body of work and creative trajectory. Following the opening remarks, Mirosław Rosiński delivered an insightful lecture on the artist's philosophy and painterly ontology, subsequently leading a professional curatorial tour. A central element of the vernissage was an address by the artist herself, who presented the overarching vision and philosophical mission behind the exhibited works. During the ceremony, Inga Harasimowicz was honored with the Award of the Mayor of Bydgoszcz in recognition of her outstanding artistic achievements and long-standing contributions to culture and the arts. In a moving presentation, Radosław Chmara, Acting Director of the Bydgoszcz Cultural Office, presented the award alongside an official letter of congratulations on behalf of the Mayor. The event was also graced by the presence of Jolanta Chmara, President of the Bydgoszcz District of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP). As an opening highlight of the "Vision" jubilee, the artist presented an authorial multimedia project. The catalyst for this endeavor was her 2024 painting Time of Truth – Awakening (Czas prawdy – Przebudzenie). Fascinated by the canvas, composer Jerzy Jankowski created a dedicated musical score inspired directly by the artwork. The multimedia presentation, harmonizing visual and auditory dimensions, was designed by graphic designer Krzysztof Iwiński, serving as a compelling and resonant prologue to the exhibition. Under the media patronage of TVP3 Bydgoszcz, the exhibition received extensive broadcast coverage, including features on the main evening news program Zbliżenia. Furthermore, a two-part documentary dedicated to Harasimowicz's practice was broadcast on red. Urszula Guźlecka's authorial cultural program Po oklaskach. The exhibition was accompanied by extensive interviews on Polish Radio PiK and Radio Kultura, as well as critical essays across leading art portals, underlining the international prestige of the undertaking. The showcase demonstrated Harasimowicz’s extraordinary stylistic consistency and mature technical mastery, serving as a powerful assertion of the force of contemporary monumental painting. The curated selection comprised 20 major works, providing a valuable retrospective cross-section of her practice. Featured monumental canvases included Heaven, Conversion, Struggles of Heaven, Bonds (Więzy), Boundless (Bezkres), and Boundless II, alongside Passage I (Przejście I), Passage II, The Rider (Jeździec), the polyptychs Hellenica I and Hellenica II, a large-scale master drawing, and selected compositions from the series Conscious Creation of Reality – The Path to Light. Owing to exceptional public and critical interest, three additional guided tours were hosted by the artist. These intimate sessions brought together museum directors, gallery curators, academic professors, members of the Bydgoszcz Ambassador Club, art historians, and collectors. The exhibition remained open to the public through March 13, 2026. The event marked a major milestone in the public and institutional appreciation of Inga Harasimowicz’s career, presenting her large-scale masterworks on an unprecedented level.
